Infarction of the internal capsule gives rise to contralateral symptoms. Thus, infarction to the right internal capsule would result in left-sided symptoms, including Tactile hypesthesia, Contralateral anesthesia, Contralateral hemiparesis (with the Babinski sign), Contralateral lower facial weakness, and Contralateral homonymous hemianopia.
