Category 3: single/ multiple transdermal bites/scratches, licks on broken skin, contamination of mucous membrane with saliva from licks, contact with bats. PEP-immediate vaccination and administration of rabies immunoglobulin,local treatment of wounds. Wounds should not be sutured . This is to prevent additional trauma which may help spread virus into deeper tissues.
