Jod Basedow Effect: Refers to induction of thyrotoxicosis by iodine in the form of dietary supplements or medication, especially especially in patients who are relatively iodide deficient. Treatment includes combination of antithyroid drugs and perchlorate paicularly in amiodarone-induced thyrotoxicosis.
