Gastro-ileal reflex: Sholy after eating food , there is relaxation of the ileo-cecal sphincter and increase in the contractile activity of the ileum. It promotes passage of small intestinal contents into the colon. This reflex is mediated by the extrinsic autonomic nerves to the intestine.
