Description: Neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) is a disorder caused by the transplacental passage of maternal antibodies. The most frequent clinical manifestations are cutaneous lesions andcongenital hea block (CHB). Approximately 50% of NLE infants manifest skin lesions at bih or occur in the first few weeks of life as an erythematous eruption on the face and periorbital skin (raccoon sign/owl-eye/eye mask).
