It consists of dorsal raphe nucleus(midbrain), nucleus raphe pontis( pons), nucleus raphe magnus( medulla).The midbrain reticular formation consists of the dorsal tegmental nucleus, ventral tegmental nucleus, and cuneiform nucleus.
