Description: Multiple exposures is the single most important factor for halothane hepatitis → Repeated use should be avoided, at least an interval of 3 months should be given between two exposures. Obesity and middle age are risk factors for halothane hepatitis, but these are not contraindications. Option 'd' requires specific mention here :-           ♦Pre-existing liver disease or jaundice is not a contraindication :- "There is no compelling evidence associating halothane with worsening of pre-existing liver disease". __ Morgan 4th/e 169 "Pre-existing liver disease unrelated to halothane is not a contraindication to the use of halothane". __ Lee 13th/e 143 Liver dysfunction & Jaundice to previous halothane exposure is a contraindication. Though not a contraindication, Halothane should be avoided in liver disease.
