Patients at risk of pulmonary aspiration 4. Difficult mask ventilation 5. Any patient in imminent danger of upper airway obstruction (e.g. Burns of the upper airways). 6. Cardiac arrest Contraindication 1. Severe airway trauma or obstruction that does not permit safe way of an endotracheal tube. Emergency cricothyrotomy is indicated in such cases. 2.
