Correct Answer: SDA with antibiotics , incubated at 37 degree celsius
Description: Dimorphic fungi: They exist as moulds (hyphal form) in the environment at ambient temperature (25degC) and as yeasts in human tissues at body temperature (37degC). Examples include: Histoplasma capsulatum, Blastomyces dermatitidis, Coccidioides, Paracoccidioides, Penicillium marneffei and Sporothrix schenckii. Brain hea infusion (BHI) agar, Blood agar and SDA (with Chloramphenicol and cycloheximide) are used for isolation of dimorphic fungi. SDA with antibiotics (Chloramphenicol) is always preferred over plain SDA to avoid bacterial contamination and make it more selective.
