It is characterized by intrahepatic phlebosclerosis and fibrosis, fibrosis in and around the portal tracts, portal vein and splenic vein sclerosis and thrombosis of medium and small branches of portal vein and splenic vein and nonspecific inflammatory cell infiltrates in the portal tracts.
