Source: Ganong-142 Brown-Sequard syndrome, also known as Brown-Sequard's hemiplegia and Brown-Sequard's paralysis, is a loss of sensation and motor function (paralysis and ataxia) that is caused by the lateral hemisection (cutting) of the spinal cord.
