Gastric emptying sequence into duodenum
Correct Answer: Fat > protein > carbohydrate
Description: Food rich in carbohydrate leaves the stomach in a few hours. Protein-rich foods leave more slowly and emptying is slowest after a meal containing fat. Hyperosmotic contents in duodenum decrease gastric emptying. CCK is also an inhibitor of gastric emptying (Ref: Ganong&;s Review of medical physiology, 23 rd edition, page 473)
