As there is complete loss of accommodation in aphakia +3 or +3.5 D spherical lenses are given for near work. Post operative plan Extracapsular cataract extraction Phacoemulsification Topical steroid - antibiotic drops 6-8 weeks 3-4 weeks General precautions & restriction of activity 6-8 weeks 1-2 weeks Refraction & prescription of glasses 6-8 weeksQ 1-2 weeks Topical mydriatic-cycloplegic 1-2 weeks 1-2 weeks Topical medication to reduce intraocular pressure 1-2 weeks 1-2 weeks
