Colon is supplied by all except ?

Correct Answer: Internal iliac aery
Description: The blood supply of colon is derived from the marginal aery of Drummond. It is a paracolic anastomotic aery formed by anastomosis between colic branches of superior mesentric aery (ileocolic, right colic, middle colic) and colic branches of inferior mesenteric aery (left colic and sigmoidal aeries). Terminal branches from marginal aery are distributed as long and sho vessels vasa longa and vasa bra. There are areas of colon with poor blood supply resulting from incomplete anastomosis of marginal aeries. These are watershed areas of colon and include :Splenic flexure (Griffith point) : Watershed area between superior mesenteric aery and inferior mesenteric aery.Rectosigmoid junction (Sudeck's point) : Watershed zone between inferior mesenteric aery and internal iliac aery.
