It doesn't rise as fast as it rises in uterine pregnancy. * It can also be diagnosed by pregnancy testy but a negative pregnancy test doesn't rule out the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy. * On transvaginal scan presence of an adnexal mass and the absence of an intrauterine pregnancy increases the likelihood of an ectopic pregnancy. * Methotrexate is considered as drug of choice for ectopic pregnancy.
