Jones criteria for the diagnosis of rheumatic fever: a) Major manifestations:Carditis Polyarthritis (migratory and painful) Chorea (Sydenham's chorea Erythema marginatum Subcutaneous nodules over bones or tendonsb) Minor manifestations:Fever Arthralgia Previous H/O rheumatic fever Raised ESR or C-reactive protein Leucocytosis First or second degree AV blockc) PLUSSupporting evidence of preceding streptococcal infection like recent scarlet fever, raised anti Streptolysin 0 (ASO) positive throat culture.
