A “Potential Anastomosis” seen in

Correct Answer: Coronary aery
Description: Aerial anastomosis is the communication between the aeries, or branches of aeries. It may be actual or potential. Actual Aerial Anastomosis: In actual aerial anastomosis the aeries meet end to end. For example, palmar arches, plantar arch, circle of Willis, intestinal arcades, labial branches of facial aeries. Potential Aerial Anastomosis: In potential aerial anastomosis the communication takes place between the terminal aerioles. Such communications can dilate only gradually for collateral circulation. Therefore on sudden occlusion of a main aery, the anastomosis may fail to compensate the loss. The examples are seen in the coronary aeries and the coical branches of cerebral aeries.
