Hypeension in the full-term newborn is defined as a systolic blood pressure greater than 90 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure greater than 60 mm Hg and a mean blood pressure > 70 mm Hg. Blood pressures should be measured in all 4 extremities if there is any suspicion of cardiac disease.
