Description: . Rhinoscleroma is caused by a Gram-negative cocco-bacillus Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis. The diseases passes through three stages--catarrhal, granulomatous and cicatricial. It causes woody infiltration of the upper lip. Other areas involved are larynx (subglottic region) and trachea leading to airway obstruction.
