Description: Ans. is 'None' Diagnosis ofAntiphospholipid syndrome (APS) At least one clinical criterion and one laboratory criterian must be present for a patient to be classified as having APS. A. Clinical creteria 1.One or more episodes of aerial, venous or small vessel thrombosis in any tissue or organ confirmed by findings from imaging studies, Doppler studies or histopathology. 2.Obstetrical complications --> Three or more consecutive aboions before 10 weeks of gestation; or one or more late ( > I 0 weeks) aboion, or one or more premature bih due to eclampsia or preeclampsia. B. Lab. criteria Presense of one or more of the following on 2 or more occasions at least 12 weeks apa : ? 1. Presence of lupus anticoagulant. 2. Presence of moderate to high level of anticardiolipin antibody. 3. Presence of moderate to high level of anti-beta-2 glycoprotein antibodies. Note : Cardiolipin antibody is used in serological tests for syphillis, so lupus anticoagulant may give false positive test for anticoagulants syphillis.
