Fulminant hepatitis occurs more frequently in pregnancy and regularly induces a moality rate of 20% among pregnant women in the 3rd trimester. Perinatal transmission is uncommon. Fulminant hepatitis is uncommon with hepatitis-C and rare with hepatitis-A.
