Description: This is a case of parasagittal meningioma presenting with right sided hemiparesis and frequent headaches. Most common primary brain tumour. Incidence increases with age. More common in females. More common in patients of NF-2 and with past history of cranial irradiation. Arise from the dura mater and are composed of neoplastic meningothelial (arachnoidal cap) cells Most common cytogenetic abnormality is Deletion 22q Most commonly located at the anterior paracentral gyrus pa of the paracentral lobule (Anterior paracentral gyrus is concerned with motor supply to the contralateral lower limb) MRI shows the 'Dural Tail sign' adjacent to the meningioma (result of thickening and enhancement of the dura). HPE image shows meningioma with a whorled pattern of cell growth and psammoma bodies. Present with headaches, seizures, or focal neurologic deficits.
