Description: Intraoperative radiotherapy can be used in:- Pancreatic carcinoma, Gastric carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, Head & Neck cancers, Retroperitoneal sarcomas, Genitourinary cancers, Brain tumor and some gynecological malignancies. Amongst all these, intraoperative radiotherapy is most valuable in pancreatic carcinoma. Note:- Intraoperative radiotherapy has also been tried in early stage breast cancer after conservative surgery and it may become an important area in the management of early breast cancer.
