Presentation * Asymptomatic * Choking, dysphagia * Airway obstruction, hemorrhage * Hypothyroidism (occasionally) Investigation. Thyroid scan- always performed before radioablative therapy or surgery as it may be the only thyroid tissue present. Treatment * Replacement thyroxine - decrease the size * Radioactive iodine - decrease the size * Surgery- excision rarely required.
