Description: The agents of zygomycosis (Rhizopus,Mucor) are angioinvasive. In humans, they invade tissues of patients with reduced host defense. This results in infarction and necrosis of tissues distal to blocked vessels. Aspergillus can cause paranasal sinuse and lung cavity infection but not angioinvasive.
