Description: During the intrauterine life the internal iliac aery is twice the length of external iliac aery and is the direct continuation of common iliac aery and reaches to the umbilicus along with the contralateral aery. At bih as the placental circulation ceases, only the pelvic pa remains patent as anterior division of internal iliac aery and pa of superior vesicle aery.
