All of the following conditions are associated with metabolic alkalosis with hypeension except –

Correct Answer: Fanconi syndrome
Description: Liddle syndrome is a rare hereditary disorder involving increased activity of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC), which causes the kidneys to excrete potassium but retain too much sodium and water, leading to hypeension. Symptoms are of hypeension, fluid retention, and metabolic alkalosis The enhanced mineralocoicoid effect in Cushing syndrome is caused by occupation of the MR by the high concentration of coisol. Hypokalemia and metabolic alkalosis are more common in Cushing syndrome caused by ectopic ACTH production (90%) than in other causes of Cushing syndrome (10%) and hypeension. CAH due to 11-beta-hydroxylase deficiency is caused by a shoage (deficiency) of the 11-beta-hydroxylase enzyme. When 11-beta-hydroxylase is lacking, precursors that are used to form coisol and coicosterone build up in the adrenal glands and are conveed to androgens. Ref Davidson 23rd edition pg 367
