Description: Acute appendicitis: IOC in children - USG IOC in adults - CECT (more sensitive) On USG Acute appendicitis appears as blind ending, tubular, non-compressible, aperistaltic structure with luminal diameter > or equal to 7mm. Has intact Gut signature - presence of hyperechoic mucosa & hypoechoic muscle wall of gut Show Appendicolith/Fecalith with posterior acoustic shadowing Figure: USG of acute appendicitis. On CECT Appendicular diameter > 6mm Lumen of caecum can be seen pointing towards obstructed opening of appendix called Arrow head sign.
