Other nondepolarizing neuromuscular blockers, such as tubocurarine, pancuronium, and atracurium, are eliminated by renal or hepatic mechanisms or by spontaneous hydrolysis (atracurium). Patients with genetically determined atypical cholinesterase may be detected by measuring the inhibition of cholinesterase by dibucaine, a local anesthetic.
