Erythema toxicum neonatorum (toxic erythema of new born) occurs in 20-50% of term infants - usually 2nd and later deliveries who are otherwise healthyQ. It is rare in preterm & under weight (mostly appear between 24-48 hours,on face, trunk, buttocks & proximal extremities, or pressure sites, - in form of macule, papule, wheal & pustule. Palm & soles are not involved. Wright's stain of lesion show neumerous eosinophils without peripheral eosinophilia.
