These are non neurotoxic, donot cause epileptic fits, can be used without withdrawing other drugs & are devoid of arachioid toxicity and anticonvulsant cover is unnecessary. Whereas ionic contrast media (both HOCM & LOCM) are very very toxic & often fatal when injected into subarachnoid space.
