Description: ISCHEMIA alone in a normal kidney is usually not sufficient to cause severe AKI, as evidenced by the relatively low risk of severe AkI even after suprarenal aoic clamping or cardiac arrest. (so rupture of aoic aneurysm is the most unlikely cause of ATI. ) AKI is an ominous complication of burns affecting 25%of individuals with >10%total body surface area involvement . In addition to hypovolemia, burns and acute pancreatitis both lead to dysregulated inflammation and increased risk of sepsis and acute lung injury which facilitate the development of AKI.
