Both the oral (Ty21a) and parenteral (Vi polysaccharide) vaccines are well tolerated, and adverse reactions are uncommon and usually self-limited. Vi polysaccharide vaccine can be given with other vaccines such as Meningococcal, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Yellow fever and Hepatitis A.
