Methysergide, cyproheptadine and TCAs like amitriptyline, imipramine and noriptyline can also be used. Clonidine can be used orally for the prophylaxis of migraine attacks. Topiramate (anticonvulsant drug) has recently been approved for prophylaxis of migraine Valproate and gabapentin also possess some prophylactic activity.
