Description: Ans. is 'c' i.e., Hematocrit Red cell distribution width (RDW) o It is the cofficient of variation of RBC volume, i.e. indication of the degree of anisocytosis. o So, anemia can have two types of RDW 1.Normal RDW o Anemia with RBCs of same size i.e. homogenous RBC size. o Examples are - Anemia of chronic disease, Aplastic anemia, Hereditary spherocytosis, Aplastic anemia, Acute blood loss. 2.1ncreased RDW o Anemia with variation in size of RBCs, i.e. anisocytosis. o Examples are iron deficiency, Vit B 12 or folic acid deficiency (megaloblastic or macrocytic anemia), Immune hemolytic anemia.
