Description: Deficiency of 17 alpha hydroxylase leads to increased production of aldosterone. Progesterone synthesised from cholestrole is normally acted upon by 21 alpha hydroxylase which is fuher conveed to coicosterone and aldosterone . Some amount of progesterone is channeled to production of coisol and estradiol by the action of 17 alpha hydroxylase through a separate pathway.
