Periorbital violaceous erythema characterizes the classic heliotrope rash. Gottron's papules are pathognomonic for Dermatomyositis. Gottron's papules are inflammatory papules found over the dorsal interphalangeal joints and they become violaceous in colour and flattened before they atrophy to leave.
