Description: Under normal conditions, Indian mothers secrete 450-600 ml of milk daily with 1.1 gm protein per 100 ml. Maximum output (730 ml/day) is seen at 5 - 6 month and at 12 month output is 525 ml/day. It is reduced to 345 ml/day by 37-38 months of lactation.
