Description: Treatment : The carrier of Typhoid should be given an intensive course of ampicillin or amoxycillin (4-6 g a day} together with Probenecid (2 g/day) for 6 weeks. These drugs are concentrated in the bile and may achieve eradication of the carrier state in about 70 per cent of carriers. Chloromycetin is considered wohless for clearing the carrier state.
